Power Tower Farm - Fallout 4, artwork by Bethesda Softworks
'Power Tower Farm' is an official concept artwork used by Bethesda Game Studio's for Fallout 4. The image was made by Senior Concept Artist Ilya Nazarov. This limited edition Certified Art Giclee™ print is part of the official Fallout 4 fine art collection by Cook & Becker and Bethesda Softworks. The print is hand-numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.
This concept sketch by Bethesda Senior Concept Artist Ilya Nazarov will remind Fallout 4 players of the ‘Abertnathy Farm’-site. The two-storey makeshift structure, built into the frame of a high voltage tower and occupied by the Abernathy family, can be turned into a settlement by players, providing a safe haven, food and shelter – the farm grows ‘tatos’ and melons, among other foods.
Artistically, early ‘shack drawings’ like these helped the Fallout team establish the look and feel of the many ramshackle constructions outside of the cities. Nazarov, on his ArtStation website, expressed being pleased with the captivating sketch, with its gloomy skies and strong (sun)lighting. The Protectron robot was designed by him too. Equipped as they are with modular programming (according to Fallout canon), it would make sense if the protective robots doubled as farmhands.
Fallout 4 is the fifth installment in the Fallout video game series. The games are characterized by their inventive take on post-apocalyptic science fiction. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios, they pit players against the hazards of a vast nuclear wasteland. The game world is defined by 1950's 'Space Age' aesthetics, generating a strong retro-futuristic feel that sets Fallout apart from other sci-fi games.
Bethesda Softworks is an American video game developer and publisher. Best known for narrative-driven and critically acclaimed titles Dishonored, Fallout, and the Elder Scrolls series (Skyrim), it publishes other major game titles as well, most notably id Software’s Doom and Wolfenstein games.
