Dreamscapes is a series of international art shows about modern and contemporary imaginary realism art. Cook & Becker is a partner of Dreamscapes Mixed-Up, an exhibition currently held in Utrecht, The Netherlands wherein classically working artists in the field of imaginary realism meet the digital generation. The exhibition kicked-off with a successful opening on the 20th of October at GrachtenGalerie, Utrecht. Impressions can be seen here.
In Dreamscapes: Mixed-Up the art from masters and emerging artists in imaginary realism is juxtaposed with the work of a generation of artists and designers that has been formed by the digital culture of games, video and the internet. The Dreamscapes Mixed-Up exhibition showcases how the techniques, the wondrous worlds and narrative art of the fantastic realism movement are finding a surprising new form in the digital world.
A curated selection of known masters is currently on show at GrachtenGalerie such as Michael Parkes, Hans Kanters, Bruno di Maio and David Bowers as well as the work of a younger generation of artists that continue the legacy of imaginary realism in their own way such as Menunana, Gerd Bannuscher, Marek Zyga, Roman van der Haven, Emmanuel Malin and Julien Renoult.
Dreamscape Mixed-Up is collaboration of Marcel Salome with GrachtenGalerie and Cook & Becker. Mixed-Up functions as a teaser for the larger international Dreamscape exhibition in Amsterdam in the spring of 2014. This show will be a continuation of the successful, new Dreamscapes V exhibition that opened recently in Viechtach, Germany.
